## Your account
Your OCCode account is your identity across the entire platform — the desktop app, the web dashboard, and any connected services.

## Account dashboard
Visit [occ.mba.sh](https://occ.mba.sh) or click your profile in OCCode to access:
Your name, email, and profile picture (imported from Google if used).
Current balance and purchase history.
Your OCC API keys (sk-mp and sk-occ) for programmatic access.
Detailed log of every interaction and its cost.

## API keys
Every account gets two API keys:

Both keys draw from your shared credit balance. You can view them in your dashboard but **never share them publicly**.
If you suspect a key has been compromised, regenerate it immediately from your dashboard.

You can sign out from:
* The OCCode desktop app (sidebar → Sign Out)
* The web dashboard (sidebar → Sign Out)
Signing out doesn't stop your agent — it just disconnects your session. Sign back in anytime to resume.

## How sign-in works
The app opens a secure sign-in page automatically.
Choose Google or enter your email and password.
After signing in, your browser sends you back to the app via a secure link.
Your session is stored locally. You won't need to sign in again unless you log out.

The fastest way to get started:
1. Click **"Continue with Google"**
2. Pick your Google account
3. You're in — your name and profile picture are imported automatically

## Email + password
For users who prefer not to use Google:
1. **Sign up** with your email and a password (minimum 8 characters)
2. **Log in** with the same credentials anytime
There is currently no password reset flow. If you forget your password, you can sign in with Google instead — if you use the same email, the accounts are linked automatically.

## Managing your account
Visit the [dashboard](https://occ.mba.sh/dashboard) to see your account details:
Your name and email.
Your current credit balance.
Usage and purchase history.
To **sign out**, click the sign-out button in the dashboard sidebar or within OCCode.

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt — we never store your plain-text password.
All communication is encrypted over HTTPS.
# Bring Your Own Key

Use your own API keys with OCCode for full control over models and costs.
## What is BYOK?
**Bring Your Own Key** means you can use your own AI provider API keys with OCCode instead of (or alongside) the built-in credits system. This gives you:
* **Model choice** — use Claude, GPT, Gemini, Llama, or any supported model
* **Cost control** — pay your provider directly at their rates
* **No credit limits** — your usage is limited only by your provider's quota

## Adding your API key
In OCCode, navigate to the **Models** app from the sidebar.
Select your provider from the list.
Enter your API key. OCCode validates it immediately.
Choose whether to use this provider as your default model.

## How billing works with BYOK

## Troubleshooting installation
Right-click the app → Open → Click "Open" in the dialog. This is a standard macOS Gatekeeper prompt for apps downloaded outside the App Store.
Click "More info" → "Run anyway". Windows SmartScreen shows this for new apps that haven't built up reputation yet.
Check your internet connection. OCCode needs to download OpenClaw (\~50MB). If it's still stuck, restart the app.
# Which Key is Used Where

## How key routing works
When your agent processes a request, OCCode follows a priority chain to decide which model and API key to use:

## Key types
Used for text generation — conversations, tasks, reasoning. This is your main AI model key (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, etc.).
Used for generating images. Typically an OpenAI (DALL-E) or other image model key.

## Fallback behavior
OCCode is designed to **never leave you stuck**:
1. If your primary model is unavailable → tries your fallback model
2. If your fallback model fails → uses OCC Legacy
3. If credits are depleted → prompts you to top up or add a BYOK key
You can configure fallback chains in the **Models** app — set a primary model and one or more fallbacks.

* ⏸️ **Fallback** — will be used if the primary fails
